It is a war which was bound to happen sooner or later. Now when the SriLankan government has officially initiated the final round, the LTTE is staying put on the last 10-12 km long strip of land under its control, employing the civilians as a human-shield. This, however, has led to a widespread criticism of the government on human-rights issues.

While no one would want any innocent person killed in the struggle, as is the case with most other lesser-than-ideal situations, it is bound to happen. But what is of a greater importance is the fact that this is a fight to save the existence of SriLanka as we know it, and to prove that secessionist forces, fighting on whatever grounds they may, should not be let to succeed. The futility of LTTE’s endevours must be imprinted in the textbooks of history in bold letters for those in other countries with similar malefic intentions to see and fear. This exercise should be a lesson to the countries like India and its all-too-glorified neighbor, which even after 60 years of independence, have not managed to hold united and counter these forces.

Infact, talking about India, it makes me immensely sad that the Indian government is actually backing LTTE and asking for the SriLankan government to announce ceasefire (on the pretext of rescuing civilians). Now, I may not know the history well-enough, but this is the same INDIA which happens to be struggling to keep together its Jammu & Kashmir and Aksai Chin in the north; and Nagaland, Arunanchal Pradesh etc in the east. The same India which is ruled by a coalition of 25 different parties because the billion brains couldn’t decide in favor of just one; the same India which is devided on grass-root level by appaling mountains of religion and caste.  I don’t think a country as ‘great’ as India has any right to intervene because a man who can’t keep his own house in order shouldn’t go around teaching people how to live! And that human-rights defence that you want us to buy is something that you yourself totaly forget when a third of your population lives without the basic amenities of food, water and shelter. So, in god’s name, NOT YOU!

United Nations, a happy puppet of the United States, is pitching for a ceasefire too. It is only natural as the resolution of conflict in SriLanka forever would mean one nation less for the US to play around with and that is something they can’t take. I mean, who doesn’t want ‘fun’? Besides, why doesn’t UN cry hoarse when the whole of Africa is burning? Oh, wait, may be they can’t see Africa from the high moral pedestle that are currently sitting at.

China on the other hand has announced full support to SriLankan government, agreeing ‘in principle’ with its actions. Really? The great dictator nation now decides to lend support to an anti-secessionist campaign? Of course… remember TIBET? And also, there is so much fun in just seeing America go red with anger!

So, people, understand that there is a lot of useless propoganda all around and that currently, a nation is doing what needs to be done in its best interest. Hence, atleast I would not hesitate in saying… Go Srilanka!
